Don’t underestimate the apparently simple premise of PHONE BOOTH.

Colin Farrell is Stu Shepherd, a fast talking PR executive who uses his bold, upfront attitude to both manipulate the people around him and get results for his clients. He is married to Kelly (Radha Mitchell) but he regularly calls Pamela (Katie Holmes), a beautiful, young, aspiring actress from a phone booth promising to help her in her career but with other possible motivations in mind. He uses the phone booth so his calls don’t show up on the account of his cell phone, which he is otherwise glued to all day.

But this time after he ends his call in the phone booth the phone rings and with no one else in the vicinity, he answers it. To his astonishment the call is for him and it’s from someone he doesn’t even know. He also doesn’t realise that if and when he leaves the phone booth his life will have changed forever as he becomes trapped in this small glass box by this stranger on the phone and a sniper rifle waiting to kill him.

PHONE BOOTH is an incredibly tense, suspense movie that takes place totally in and around a phone booth in the middle of a street. Stu Shepherd’s world comes to him which is how one simple static location can become so interesting.

Also the standard of acting from the whole cast headed by Colin Farrell and Kiefer Sutherland is superb, together with an excellent script, directing and overall outstanding filmmaking. This film deserves to win Oscars and should certainly win your attention. Go see it and be prepared to sit on the edge of your seat.
