UK DVD Release Date: 7 May 2007 UK Certificate: 12 Stars: Tom Selleck, John Hillerman, Roger E. Mosley, Larry Manetti I’ve always been a big fan of this series and season 6 seems to have episodes that for various reasons stuck in my mind. The season opens with a double episode titled DÉJÀ VU, which sees Magnum and Higgins journey to England on business for Robin Masters, only to end up in the middle of a murder mystery. No bright and sunny Hawaiian weather here as the scenery looks distinctly grey and I’m sure Tom Selleck has a cold! In another weather related episode THE KONA WINDS the seasonal Hawaiian weather sets the mood in an episode that reminded me of the film BODY HEAT. Other memorable episodes stand out in my mind such as THE HOTEL DICK when Magnum decides to get a “real” job and BLOOD AND HONOR when Magnum is called back to navel intelligence to find a spy. I love the titles on these shows so I have to mention WHO IS DON LUIS HIGGINS, AND WHY IS HE DOING THESE TERRIBLE THINGS TO ME? It features Higgins’s half-brother so you can imagine the fun! The season ends with a story named PHOTO PLAY when a photographer who damages Magnum’s Ferrari hires him to find out why the bad guys are after her after she photographs something she shouldn’t have. All in all Season 6 of this classic 80’s TV series is still thoroughly enjoyable today with a great selection of episodes.
