Containing promotional videos and performances spanning Craig and Charlie Reid’s first fifteen years as The Proclaimers, the videos are taken from the band’s four albums to date: This Is The Story (1987), Sunshine On Leith (1988), Hit The Highway (1994) and Persevere (2001). In addition to this, two new tracks will be featured, which were produced by Edwyn Collins earlier this year for inclusion on the Best Of album.

Since Craig and Charlie first came to the nation’s attention on Channel 4’s ‘The Tube’ fifteen years ago, the duo have achieved massive success selling over four million albums and playing hundreds of live dates to exhilarated audiences world-wide.

The last couple of years have seen a huge Proclaimers resurgence after a seven-year hiatus between albums. They put music on hold when their father became critically ill, passing away in 1997. Since then they have been busy with writing and family commitments. Never concerned with chasing fame their withdrawal from the public eye was unequivocal. The band had enjoyed massive success in North America in 93/94 and finally returned with the aptly named album ‘Persevere’ in May 2001.

Since then, over the last year and a half, they toured the world with 168 gigs, proving that they are still among the most dynamic, passionate and stirring live acts in the world. Highlights included an already legendary performance at the T In The Park Festival, an arena tour of the USA with Barenaked Ladies, headlining in front of Edinburgh Castle and 100,000 revellers at Edinburgh’s Hogmanay and performing five minutes before the kick off at the UEFA Champions League final, where on top of the 55,000 Real Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen fans singing along in rousing fashion, there was an estimated TV audience of over one billion viewers. It is a testament to the power, timelessness and popularity of The Proclaimers’ music that the recent concerts have seen a huge turnout of younger fans seeing them live for the first time.

Their music has also been wildly used in films and advertising, with an even younger audience emerging after the track ‘I’m On My Way’ featured in the movie SHREK and this year even sees Homer doing his own rendition of ‘500 Miles’ in a forthcoming episode of The Simpsons.

After their mammoth touring, Craig and Charlie are now back in Scotland working on songs for a new studio album to be released next summer, when the band will take to the road again.
