There are lots of comedies around but how often do you see a movie that makes you laugh from the first scene through to the last? EVIL WOMAN, also released in some territories as SAVING SILVERMAN is such a movie.

It’s a simple story, Darren Silverman (Jason Biggs) is being pussy-whipped into marriage by the controlling Judith (Amanda Peet). His two best friends Wayne (Steve Zahn) and J D (Jack Black) are not allowed to see him, by order of the disapproving Judith so decide to rescue him from the future life of a subservient husband by kidnapping Judith and introducing his long lost high school love Sandy (Amanda Detmer) back into his life. The only thing is Sandy is about to become a nun, which could be a slight problem although she soon starts falling for Darren.

Meanwhile what do they do with the kidnapped Judith especially now she has worked out her kidnappers identities, the great chicken suit disguise never fooled anyone!

I honestly think that this movie is funnier than either of the AMERICAN PIE films or any others of the genre. It’s got everything. The aforementioned AMERCIAN PIE’S Jason Biggs; Jack Black and Steve Zahn – two very funny actors; not one but two gorgeous lead actresses, Amanda Peet who seems to wear the most revealing tops ever designed in most of the scenes (I’m not complaining) and the equally stunning Amanda Detmer (the blonde in FINAL DESTINATION who was spectacularly wiped out by a bus).

All this combined with one funny gag or situation after the next and you’ve got a top notch comedy.

In between laughing I kept thinking that in the next scene it would fall flat on it’s face but it didn’t. I was laughing from beginning to end. A real comedy gem. Excellent stuff, I had a great time.
