Starring: John Turturro, James Remar, Deborah Kara Unger, Stephen McIntyre
Director: Nicolas Winding Refn

What is a thriller without any suspense, tension, shock and of course fear?

A very unexciting film.

Harry (John Turturro) works as a security guard in a small shopping centre. His wife was killed in strange circumstances and since then he has become obsessive about discovering the real reasons for the murder. A clue takes him to Montana to look for a blonde woman and consequently he becomes involved with some corrupt policemen.

FEAR X is very, very slow. The story doesn’t pick up at all and it needed something more to happen. As the film closed I stayed, watching, waiting for something to occur at the last minute. A twist after the music? A revelation following the credits? Unfortunately nothing happens – and this is endemic throughout the whole film. FEAR X just doesn’t work as a thriller at all, plus the ending is not very clear.
