MY SUPER EX-GIRLFRIEND is a light hearted but thoroughly enjoyable movie and stars Uma Thurman as Jenny Johnson, a girl with alien super powers who has an alter ego as superhero G-Girl. Unfortunately she doesn’t take it too well when she is dumped by her boyfriend Matt Saunders (Luke Wilson) and goes on the warpath in retaliation.

Uma Thurman plays this role so well having perfected it in BATMAN & ROBIN (1997) as Dr Pamela Isley when she stole the show as the transformed Poison Ivy. Here her sophisticated charm descends into devilish revenge, which spirals out of control in response to her emotional upset and confusion at losing her (as she sees it) traitorous boyfriend and not being able to accept it gracefully.

With equally entertaining performances from Luke Wilson and Eddie Izzard, who plays Professor Bedlam, as the two men in her life – one desperately trying to escape, the other trying to poach her powers and affection – MY SUPER EX-GIRLFRIEND is another entertaining offering from well known filmmaker Ivan Reitman (executive producer of EURO TRIP, OLD SCHOOL and ROAD TRIP) who directs here.

Interspersed with some highly amusing stunts, the CGI is cleverly intercut. It’s used to good effect as G-Girl’s super powers intensify and erratically veer from her good intentions of saving people’s lives and averting accidents, to bitchily creating and wilfully misusing them with the intention of deliberately causing harm to her ex and her ‘competitor’, Matt’s work colleague, the beautiful Hannah Lewis (Anna Faris).

Watch out for the shark attack!
