Starring: Alexa Vega, Mika Boorem, Scout Taylor-Compton, Kallie Flynn Childress

Director: Joe Nussbaum

Julie (Alexa Vega) has just finished junior high school so to cap it off she and her friends plan a typical girlie sleepover. Before the party as Julie’s mum is leaving them in the hands of her husband, Julie’s father, and her quirky college drop out son, Julie’s brother, she reminds the girls that they should not leave the house at all.

Just as the party is getting slightly boring the girls get a phone call from the ‘it girls’ at their school challenging them to a treasure hunt. This treasure hunt is no ordinary one and takes them on a series of challenging tasks from rearranging a shop window at the local mall, stealing a popular boy’s boxers, meeting a guy at a bar and getting him to buy one of them a drink, go to the high school dance and finally get back home safe and sound before Julie’s mum gets back home.

This is a simple storyline with no high aspirations. It has been tailor made and will appeal most to young teenage girls and for them it should do just fine. The lead actress, Alexa Vega of SPY KIDS fame, is engaging enough to carry the film and she has great support from Mika Boorem who plays her best friend in the movie as well as the ensemble cast.

In conclusion it is a pleasantly entertaining film for all the family especially for girls.
