Movie Review by Nigel A. Messenger

Starring: Jennifer Lopez, Matthew McConaughey, Kevin Pollak

Director: Adam Shankman

Mary Fiore (Jennifer Lopez) is unlucky in love, she just can’t seem to find the right guy and has a history of being stood up at the altar. Her career on the other hand is very successful, as a wedding planner for a top company with very wealthy clients. Now her whole life is about to be turned upside down as she is rescued from a near fatal accident by Dr Steve Edison (Matthew McConaughey), a handsome doctor, who she instantly falls for.

Dr Steve Edison seems the perfect guy but no sooner have they made arrangements to see each other again than Mary finds out that Steve is the husband-to-be of Fran Donolly (Bridget Wilson-Sampras) whose wedding she is planning.

THE WEDDING PLANNER is a very corny movie that is reminiscent of those romantic comedies of the 1950’s, that just don’t seem to work when they are made nowadays, but for some reason THE WEDDING PLANNER not only works, it is very enjoyable. It’s funny in the right places and the chemistry between Lopez and McConaughey comes across well on the screen. There’s plenty of glamour of course with the hot and sexy Jennifer Lopez in the lead role and the gorgeous Bridget Wilson-Sampras, as the all American bride-to-be, plus Matthew McConaughey is there for the ladies.

This is a fun, undemanding movie that could not be further from Jennifer Lopez’ previous role in THE CELL and these two very different movies plus her successful singing career have got to place her as one of today’s top entertainment artists.

Go and see THE WEDDING PLANNER for an enjoyable night out that won’t tax your brain too much.
