Joel Barish (Jim Carrey) hunts for anything in his possession that reminds him of his ex-girlfriend, Clementine Kruczynski (Kate Winslet), who recently had surgery to erase him from her memory. Heartbroken, Joel undergoes the same procedure, where he must relive core memories the couple shared, like their last fight. Will he have the courage to remove her from his mind forever?
