Synopsis

This powerful and emotional documentary is told through the eyes of the parents of Megumi Yokota (a banker and his wife) who are caught up in a bizarre mystery that alarmingly unfolds and changes their lives forever.

Japan 1977 and a 13 year-old teenage girl Megumi Yokota vanishes without trace as she is abducted on her way home from school by North Korean spies. For 20 years there is no news or even proof that their daughter is alive or dead. Then one day out of the blue the shocking truth is revealed to the whole world.

The film begins with the day Megumi disappears and follows the unbelievable course this tragedy takes as it ultimately develops into a battle between two nations to its final shocking climax.
