Synopsis
Hawks' classic adaptation of Raymond Chandler's novel is a classic
films noir starring Humphrey Bogart as private eye Marlowe. Hired by
General Sternwood (Charles Waldron) to sort out the mess one of his
daughter’s, Carmen (Martha Vickers), has managed to get her life
in.
Unfortunately his job becomes increasing difficult when no one, not
even Carmen’s older sister Vivian (Lauren Bacall), wants to help
with his investigations. As Marlowe's investigations unveil a deadly
web of deceit, and as his relationship with Vivian develops, the
body count mounts.
