Synopsis

Maximo (Nathan Lopez) is a 12 year old boy, who's been wearing women's clothes since the death of his mother. He cooks, cleans, does the basic household chores and cares for his brothers and father. He is also the alibi for their petty mobile phone racket.

When Maximo is attacked by another gang on the streets of Manila, Victor, the new cop on the block comes to his rescue. Such personal police protection would be fine if the honest cop wasn't intent on putting the pre-teen transvestite's criminal father and brothers behind bars.

A sweet, street-smart debut from director Auraeus Solito. THE BLOSSOMING OF MAXIMO OLIVEROS was winner of the 2006 Teddy award at the 2006 Berlin Film Festival by director Auraeus Solito in his debut feature.
