Synopsis
An award-winning audience pleaser at the Toronto and Tribeca Film
Festivals, Ruba Nadda's CAIRO TIME is both a love letter to a city
and in the tradition of such films as BRIEF ENCOUNTER and LOST IN
TRANSLATION.
Juliette Grant (Patricia Clarkson) is a successful fashion magazine
editor and she flies to Cairo, Egypt to meet up with her husband so
they can spend a much needed three week holiday together. When he is
unavoidably delayed, he arranges for his reliable friend Tareq
Khalifa (Alexander Siddig) to meet her instead.
Tareq acts the perfect host accompanying her around and showing her
the sights, sounds and unique customs of the exotic city. Quite
unexpectedly he gradually feels attracted to Juliette his aroused
emotions take Juliette by surprise.
A sweeping romantic drama directed by Canadian filmmaker, Ruba Nadda.
