However, her calm and predictable world is turned upside down when she meets Karl (Horst Westphal), an older man she finds herself attracted to, and immediately they embark upon a passionate affair. In spite of her feelings of guilt and betrayal, Inge finds herself unable to let go of the joy she has found. Seeking forgiveness and understanding, Inge confesses her secret love affair to her unsuspecting husband with devastating consequences. Cloud 9 explores fidelity, desire and love in the twilight years and subverts convention to present a brave account of young love in old age. |
