Synopsis
Shamoto lives with his second wife Taeko, but is worried there’s
friction between his wife and daughter Mitsuko. Shamoto runs a small
tropical fish shop and one day he meets up with another owner of a
tropical fish store called, Murata, when Mitsuko is caught
shoplifting at a grocery store. Murata negotiates with the food
store manager and gets Mitsuko let off the hook.
Shamoto and Murata become friends to the extent that Mitsuko starts
working for Murata, and living at his house. Unbeknown to Shamoto,
Murata hides many dark secrets behind his friendly veneer. He sells
cheap fish to his customers but charges high prices and if anyone
exposes his fraud or refuses to go along with his money-making
schemes, they’re murdered and their bodies disposed of by Murata
and his wife in grisly ways.
Shamoto is also conned by Murata’s tactics, but by the time he
realises it’s too late. Murata takes Mitsuko hostage and imprisons
her at his home. Shamoto now finds himself an unwilling accomplice
controlled by a dangerous killer…
