Synopsis

Action thriller GAMER is set in the near future in a society which is hooked on mind-control technology. Humans control other humans in a mass-scale, multiplayer online game. 

Billionaire recluse Ken Castle (Michael C Hall) has created the controversial form of entertainment, "Slayers," a phenomenally successful game that allows millions to act out their innermost desires and fantasies - online - in front of a global audience. With "Slayers", Castle has devised a whole new and formidable level to gaming allowing en masse mind control, manipulation and people playing people!

Kable (Gerard Butler - 300) is the superstar and cult hero of "Slayers," the savage and extremely violent first person shooter game. Kable is controlled by Simon, a young gamer who has achieved international celebrity status by defying all odds to skilfully steer Kable to victory each week.

In reality Kable has been abducted from his family, forcibly imprisoned and coerced into fighting against his will. He is a modern day gladiator trying to survive against the odds for long enough so he can escape the game to free his family, regain his identity and ultimately to save mankind from Castle’s ruthless technology.
