Synopsis

Always in debt from his pool playing, hard drinking lifestyle, Jaeckie Zucker (Henry Hübchen), who stayed in Berlin while his mother and brother fled to the West just before the Berlin wall went up, learns that his mother has died. She's left him a substantial (and timely) inheritance which he will receive on one condition that he reunites with his long estranged brother Samuel (Udo Samel).

In contrast to his non-religious brother, Samuel is an orthodox Jew. When Samuel arrives along with his family for the funeral, Jaeckie, is trying to outmanoeuvre his family so he can compete in a high stakes pool tournament.
