Francis Ouimet (Shia LeBeouf), an amateur golf player from a working class family upset the 1913 U.S. Open defeating his idol, the defending British champion Harry Vardon (Stephen Dillane). Accompanied by his 10-year-old caddie Eddie Lowry (Josh Flitter) he shocked the golf world with his surprise victory.
