Synopsis
The Co-operative and Dogwoof present H2OIL, the final film in the
acclaimed TOXIC FUELS trilogy including DIRTY OIL and PETROPOLIS.
All three films take a view in the ecological disaster unfolding in
the Canadian Alberta tar sands, with H2OIL specifically tackling the
issue of water and the vast amounts needed and wasted in the oil
extraction process.
Oil or water, this is the pivotal question raised in this powerful
documentary as we explore the stories of those attempting to defend
water in Alberta against tar sands exploitation. Unlikely alliances
are built and lives are changed as they come up against the largest
industrial project in human history. With hope and courage H2OIL
tells the story of one of the most significant, and destructive
projects of our time.
