Synopsis

Alone in her car and driving along the highway, Veronica (Maria Onetto) is distracted by the sudden ringing of her mobile, but in that brief lapse of concentration, she runs over something. Instead of pulling over and investigating, she drives on.

As the days pass, Veronica, a middle-aged dentist, becomes increasingly unnerved by the possibility that she hit and killed someone or something. In spite of contacting the police who confirm that there were no accident reports, she has doubts about what she had really hit. Was it an animal? A child?

Increasingly obsessed with not knowing what she hit, she tries to piece together what really happened while her husband methodically erases her tracks.

THE HEADLESS WOMAN is a chilling drama about a woman in shock and is the third feature from director Lucrecia Martel who explores the intricacies of class and the role of women in a male-dominated society.
