Synopsis
Paramount Pictures and Marvel Entertainment present the highly
anticipated sequel, IRON MAN 2, to the blockbuster film based on the
legendary Marvel Super Hero “Iron Man,” reuniting director Jon
Favreau and Oscar® nominee Robert Downey Jr.
With the world aware that billionaire inventor Tony Stark (Robert
Downey Jr) is the armoured Super Hero Iron Man, he finds himself
under increasing pressure from the government, the press and the
public to share his technology with the military. Fearing his
creation could be abused if it fell into the wrong hands, Tony is
unwilling to reveal the secrets behind the Iron Man armour.
Then Ivan Vanko (Mickey Rourke), a mysterious figure from the Stark
family’s past, sets out to destroy Tony by revealing his own
devastating weapon based on Stark’s technology. Overwhelmed on all
fronts, while also facing his own personal demons, Tony must finally
call on his allies, old and new, to help him confront the gathering
forces. Accompanied by Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) and James
“Rhodey” Rhodes (Don Cheadle), Tony forges new alliances and
confronts powerful new forces that threaten to destroy him and all
of mankind.
