Synopsis
"The most powerful man in the world."
The drama explores the public and private life of one of the most
powerful, controversial and enigmatic figures of the last century
and written by Oscar winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black (MILK).
The face of law enforcement in the USA for almost fifty yeas, J.
Edgar Hoover was feared and admired, reviled and revered. However,
behind closed doors, he guarded secrets that would have destroyed
his image, his career and his life.
J Edgar Hoover is played by Leonardo DiCaprio (INCEPTION), Naomi
Watts (DREAM HOUSE) stars as Helen Gandy, the life long secretary of
J Edgar Hoover, Judi Dench (QUANTUM OF SOLACE) stars as his over
protective mother, Anne Marie Hoover and Armie Hammer (THE SOCIAL
NETWORK) as Hoover's protégé Clyde Tolson, who was rumoured to
have more than a professional relationship with the FBI director.
Co-starring Josh Hamilton as Robert Irwin, Geoff Pierson (JACK AND
JILL, DEXTER TV series) as Mitchell Palmer, Josh Lucas (LIFE AS WE
KNOW IT) plays legendary aviator Charles Lindbergh, whose son's
kidnapping changes the pubic profile of the FBI, Damon Herriman
