Synopsis
Raquel (Catalina Saavedra), who has spent that last 23 years in
service to the Valdes family, looks upon herself as not just a maid
but more as part of the family. However, when Raquel has
increasingly bitter clashes with the eldest Valdes daughter, the
family think she is becoming stressed out with too much work and so
hire additional help.
Unfortunately instead of placating Raquel she sees each new maid as
a challenge, and sabotages the new employees by resorting to
childish antics, in an attempt to maintain her status quo.
Sebastian Silva second feature questions, without prejudice, the
remnants of class division and the aristocratic tradition of
domestic service, and achieves a highly perceptive and comedic
drama.
