Synopsis
Johnny Ryan (Scott Caan), a successful romance novelist, is actually
cynical about love in real life, until at his latest book launch
party, his attention is drawn to beautiful book critic, Mercy (Wendy
Glenn) – the only critic scornful of his work.
Perplexed by her criticism about the lack of depth she feels is
apparent in his novels, Johnny feels motivated to prove Mercy wrong.
While Johnny sets about finding the depth she is adamant is missing,
he gradually beings to fall in love.
From first time feature director Patrick Heolck, whose background is
from fashion photography, the film also stars Troy Garity, Erika
Christensen, Dylan McDermott, James Caan (Scott’s father) and
explores the struggle of maintaining a relationship, and the
possibility of losing it all.
