Synopsis
Three women's lives share a common core: they have all been
profoundly affected by adoption.
Karen (Annette Bening), who had a
baby at 14 and gave her away at birth, has always been preoccupied
by the daughter she never knew.
Elizabeth (Naomi Watts) grew up as
an adopted child. A bright and ambitious lawyer, she’s a
persistent loner in her personal life.
Lucy (Kerry Washington) and
her husband Joseph (David Ramsey) are just contemplating adoption
and looking for a baby to become their own.
