Synopsis

Jean-Claude (Patrick Chesnais) is a 'hussier de justice' (the French equivalent of a bailiff), who carried on his father’s business and currently finds little joy in his life. With his father (Georges Wilson) now in a home but whose critical nature tries the patience of the care workers, Jean Claude loyally visits him each weekend.

Jean Claude eventually plucks up the courage to shake off the dreary monotony of his daily life and signs up for some tango lessons at the dance studio opposite his office. It is here that he meets Françoise (Anne Consigny) taking dancing lessons for her forthcoming wedding to Thierry (Lionel Abelanski). She recognises him and remembers Jean Claude’s mother as her former babysitter when she was a child. A tentative bond begins to develop between the two of them, but each is justifiably cautious.
