Linda Hanson (Sandra Bullock), a Midwestern housewife, is told her husband Jim (Julian McMahon) has died in a car crash - only to discover him the next morning alive and well. Her bad dream turns into a nightmare when he ends up dead again the following day. Linda Hanson has it all: a beautiful house, a loving husband and two adorable young daughters. But then one day she receives the devastating news that her husband, Jim (Julian McMahon), has died in a car crash. For this devoted wife and mother, it's the worst thing she could ever imagine happening. But did she in fact imagine it? For when Linda wakes up the next morning, Jim is very much alive. At first, Linda believes the accident must have been a nightmare. Then it happens again; some days she wakes up to find her husband alive and well; while on others she awakens a widow. For some bizarre reason, she is living the days of her life out of order. Linda's terrifying premonition sets off a series of puzzling, time-altering events that in turn lead to the discovery that her perfect life may not have been all that it appeared. Desperate to save her family, Linda begins a furious race against time and fate to try and preserve everything she and Jim have built together. Slowly coming to realize she's living the days of her week out of order, she's faced with a chilling choice: save the life of her unfaithful husband and salvage their marriage, or let him die and start a brand new life without him.
