Based on the wildly popular video game series, Resident Evil is an action-packed thriller starring Milla Jovovich (THE FIFTH ELEMENT), Michelle Rodriguez (THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS) and Eric Mabius (CRUEL INTENTIONS) in a battle of good and evil, human versus computer, the living against the Undead. Lurking deep beneath Raccoon City is The Hive, a vast laboratory where, unknown to the outside world, illegal genetic research takes place. Run by the ubiquitous Umbrella Corporation, the labs are developing the deadly T-Virus, which has the ability to reanimate dead cells, and would be worth millions on the biological warfare market. When the T-Virus is deliberately leaked into the building, the Hive’s supercomputer Red Queen responds by sealing the facility and killing all the employees within to contain the infection. Alice (Jovovich, The Fifth Element) joins Rain (Rodriguez, The Fast and the Furious) and fellow commandos in a race against time, to shut down Red Queen and find out what went wrong. Suffering temporary memory loss Alice must quickly recall her high kicking skills as she battles against a series of terrifying obstacles in a battle to beat the Red Queen and find the anti-virus. With lethal laser beams and mutant Dobermans to contend with, the commandos must also defeat an army of flesh eating zombies, one scratch from whom will infect them with the virus. As Alice desperately tries to remember the part she played in the lead up to the outbreak, to work out who set free the virus, the Red Queen has one final surprise. In a gripping finale she unleashes The Licker, a grotesque mutation that has been created with the sole purpose of brutally killing anyone unfortunate enough to cross it’s path. Will the team defeat the Red Queen and find the anti-virus in time? Or are they doomed to turn Undead? Who, if anyone, will escape the evil Hive alive?
