When the farm she grew up on is taken over by the bank, small-town beauty René (Felicity Mason) decides to leave behind the quiet fishing community of Berkeley for a new life in the city. But before she can make her move, her once peaceful and tranquil hometown is bombarded by a freak storm of meteorites carrying a strange, otherworldly virus. The infection causes the dead to rise and soon René finds herself trapped in a town overrun by a plague of ravenous zombies with a taste for human meat. Her only refuge is an isolated farmhouse owned by the local eccentric outcast, Marion (Mungo McKay). There, René and Marion hook up with a small group of desperate fellow survivors, banding together to battle their way through the hordes of undead flesh-eaters only to discover there is far more to recent events than just an out of control virus. A fun-filled sci-fi/horror tale featuring legions of the living dead, zombie fish, flesh-dissolving acid rain, alien abduction and the blackest humour, UNDEAD is a crowd pleasing splatterfest in the bloody tradition of the early works of Peter Jackson (BRAIN DEAD; BAD TASTE) and Sam Raimi (THE EVIL DEAD trilogy). Packed from start to finish with an overflow of explicit gore and dazzling visual effects, UNDEAD is guaranteed to have horror fans squirming with delight. |
