Synopsis
JOHN CARPENTER'S THE WARD is a psychological thriller about a young
woman who is incarcerated in a mysterious mental institution in the
1960s, and marks renowned horror filmmaker John Carpenter's first
feature in over seven years.
Kristen (Amber Heard), a beautiful but troubled woman, finds herself
bruised, cut, dragged and held against her will in a remote ward of
a psychiatric hospital. Completely disorientated, with no idea why
she is there, Kristen cannot remember her life before being admitted
but somehow knows she's not safe.
There are four other equally disturbed women on the ward, who are no
able to offer any answers either and Kristen is aware that
everything is not as it seems. At night she is awakened by strange
and frightening sounds, so they are not alone.
One by one the other girls on the ward disappear and Kristen is
desperate to find a way out of the hellish place before she too
becomes a victim. When she struggles to escape, it's only then that
she will uncover a truth far more dangerous and horrifying than
anyone could have imagined.
Starring Amber Heard (THE JONES), Marnie Gummer (THE HOAX), Danielle
Panabaker (FRIDAY THE 13TH), Lyndsy Fonseca (KICK-ASS), Jared Harris
(MAD MEN), Laurie-Leigh and Mika Boorem (THE PATRIOT).
