Synopsis

Adapted from an unproduced play written by Rainer Werner Fassbinder at the age of 19, WATER DROPS is set in Germany in the 1970s. Leopold (Bernard Giraudeau), a smug, still-hunky 50-year-old businessman, picks up and seduces 19 year-old Franz (Malik Zidi) who swiftly moves into his bachelor pad. Their cozy relationship soon turns for the worse as Leopold becomes argumentative. When Franz's buxom blond girlfriend surfaces, and then Leopold's elegant and enigmatic ex, things get funnier, steamier and a lot more complicated.
