Synopsis
Acclaimed filmmaker Cameron Crowe (JERRY MAGUIRE, ALMOST FAMOUS)
directs WE BOUGHT A ZOO which is based on a true story and is about
finding joy, the power of family, and the triumph of hope.
Benjamin Mee (Matt Damon) is a widowed father who writes for a Los
Angeles newspaper. He decides to leave his job and make a fresh
start with his two young children by buying an old rural house on 18
acres outside the city along with a dilapidated zoo, which he
intends to make his family’s new home.
Rosemoor Animal Park is also home to dozens of animals that reside
under the care of head zookeeper Kelly Foster (Scarlett Johansson)
and her dedicated team. While facing enormous odds to keep the zoo
open on his limited budget, Benjamin must find the courage to
recommit to his children. With
the help of an eclectic staff, and with many misadventures along the
way, the family works to return the dilapidated zoo to its former
wonder and glory.
