Single Review by Mark Bayross

Long Island’s Brand New are enjoying something of a high profile in the UK at the moment, thanks to their well-received second album DEJA ENTENDU, their last single going Top 40 and a number of triumphant live shows. A good time then to re-release THE QUIET THINGS…, which was previously only available on 7” and limited to an Ebay-friendly 600 copies.

For some reason, the song sounds even better this time around – vibrant, melodic and genuinely thrilling. Don’t be surprised if this one follows SIC TRANSIT GLORIA into the charts.

It’s available as a DVD with the video on it, or on 7” coloured vinyl and CD, backed with acoustic versions of oldie MOSHI MOSHI and Built To Spill’s CAR, both apparently recorded during a (very quiet) party. Ahhh.
