Album Review by Nigel A. Messenger

Cornershop’s new album HANDCREAM FOR A GENERATION should attract a lot of attention since the success of their BRIMFUL OF ASHA single, which received so much airplay won over a lot of new fans.

The new album features Oasis’ Noel Gallagher on the extra long track SPECTRAL MORNING’ and Guigsey on ‘lessons’ learnt from Rocky I to Rocky III. Rob Swift of New York’s X-MEN also co-produced two of the tracks.

The mood is really set though on the opening track HEAVY SOUP as US soul legend Otis Clay performs an announcer style voice over over some great music. PEOPLE POWER is another memorable piece and THE LONDON RADAR has an excellent potential as a single.

Cornershops’s style really does have quite a wide appeal and this new offering should sell even better than its predecessor WHEN I WAS BORN FOR THE SEVENTH TIME.
