This September sees the release of Looking Back – The Very Best Of David Soul, a retrospective collection of songs from the renowned actor, singer & songwriter. The 20 songs, including five of his hits, have been put together by David to reflect not only the successes but also the emotional journey of his life and career over the past four decades. In addition to the original recording of Don’t Give Up On Us, Baby, the album also features a new recording of the song, arranged by and recorded with Cuba’s number one top-selling band, Buena Fé.

David Soul has enjoyed a long and illustrious career as an actor, director and singer/songwriter. He began as a folk-singer in Minneapolis, Minnesota and New York in the mid-60s. Though best known for his role as ‘Hutch’ in the international hit television series Starsky & Hutch, it wasn’t until the success of the series that David emerged as a recording artist/concert performer and during the 1970s he consistently topped the UK and US charts with Don’t Give Up On Us, Going In With My Eyes Open, Silver Lady, Let’s Have A Quiet Night In and It Sure Brings Out The Love In Your Eyes.

More recently David has played the lead role in Jerry Springer: The Opera (London’s West End 2004-2005) and, in 2006, returned to the West End to play the role of ‘Mack’ in a new production of Jerry Herman’s musical Mack and Mabel. He has also appeared on a number of popular British television shows, his favourite being Little Britain and Dalziel & Pascoe. Most recently, he has completed filming the political thriller, FAREWELL with Willem Defoe and Fred Ward, set for a 2009 cinema release.
