Electric Soft Parade – No Need To Be Downhearted

The day is done, the story’s over, Let’s forget about the things I told you,
I really didn’t mean to do your head in – Just a momentary misunderstanding.”

With their new album of abundant musical celebration and spiralling nu-pop The Electric Soft Parade have been acclaimed by critics and embraced by fans.  Now Tom and Alex White release the chiming guitar pop of new single Misunderstanding.

ESP’s third album No Need To Be Downhearted is a remarkably ambitious self-produced album, full of elating songs and shining optimism.  It’s striking confidence has swept away tales of major label anguish and reduced past accolades to footnotes in a fresh White Brothers chapter.

Misunderstanding brims with sunny indie pop, its sharp catchy guitars drilled with unfussy carefree drumming, and with its ‘let bygones be bygones’ sentiment, Misunderstanding is a perfectly timed release for a rejuvenated band on a triumphant return.

SINGLE FORMATS:
7″/Digital Bundle of Misunderstanding plus Bodygrave
plus two exclusive tracks only available digitally – Blue It Is and Across The Universe

The new single follows If That’s The Case, Then I Don’t Know; a winner of 6 Music’s ‘Rebel Playlist’ and favourite of XFM, that was lorded by the NME as “funkier then Golden Skans… the feelgood hit of the summer”.  After storming appearances at this year’s SXSW, The Electric Soft Parade have seen their album receive rave reviews in the US, where its release on Better Looking Records marks their first foray into the American market.

Having re-ignited the ESP fire on a UK Tour April, and a series of dates with THE TWANG last month, the band returned from a US Tour for summer live dates and festivals:
