Album Review by Nigel A. Messenger

This has to be the best HED KANDI album yet and definitely right up my street.

Full of cheeky, sleazy house tracks that smart and sting, this is one big ‘bitch-slap’ of an album! Imagine Hed Kandi’s trademark sound (with lots of rock’n’roll guitar licks added) being put through an electro-blender, and coming out the other side darker, nastier and harder and you’d get TWISTED DISCO 02.05– the sort of house music your mother might’ve warned you about.

Featured tracks are those that have really kicked it on Kandi’s dancefloors during the wee hours of the morning, with an emphasis on tracks that sound just like moments of base-hedonism. The deviant line-up includes KINGS OF TOMORROW latest offering ‘Thru’ the TIEFSCHWARZ remix of SPECTRUM’S ‘Kinda New’, Kandi favourite ‘Freaks’ by MOGUAI and then there TOM NEVILLE’s ‘Buzz Junkie. title pretty much sums up the vibe of the album…

Kandi’s ‘darker’ catalogue has unique appeal in that it never takes itself too seriously, and although this is only the third release in the TWISTED series it already has an incredibly strong following – the first two sold a combined 60,000 units in the UK alone and expect the third edition’s sales will twist that figure into something much bigger.

More please!
