Album Review by Nigel A. Messenger

Hed Kandi kicks off the New Year with the latest from their brilliantly brooding WINTER CHILL series. Backing away from the dance floor, Kandi throws on a wintry blanket and indulges in some musical introspection. Fragile, melancholy and ever so slightly dark, this compilation reflects the underlying moodiness of winter and comes with guaranteed shivers, so turn up your collar and prepare for some serious chills…

2004 has been Hed Kandi’s most successful year to date clocking up a host of the hottest chart topping albums, an anthemic #6 single in the UK charts, more than 500 of the most stylish club nights brimming with over 800,000 clubbers worldwide! If this year is anything to go by then 2005 is definitely shaping up to be equally as heady for the label.

With WINTER CHILL, Hed Kandi has created a unique chill concept and a completely distinctive series in their catalogue. Drenched in haunting melodies and spine tingling vocals, this seasonal soundtrack swells with orchestral waves.

Artist BONNIE BAILEY and old Kandi accomplices LATE NIGHT ALUMI, LAMB and GOLDFRAPP feature alongside a feast of exceptional talent. The award winning SUGABABES, indie heroes MAZZY STAR, and the outstanding EVENTIDE feat. JAYMES BULLET all enchant with delicate, downtempo tracks, while warmer grooves come courtesy of GAELLE and NIKKA COSTA, making their Kandi debuts.

Other notable tracks come from a stellar cast, which includes SNOW PATROL, KATIE MELUA and FC KAHUNA, making WINTER CHILL 06.04 the perfect companion for those frosty nights indoors. Bundle up and get ready for some serious chill out time as Hed Kandi continue their resolution of delivering the freshest concepts and simply the finest tracks from around the world.
