Championed on BBC Radio 2 and so middle of the road that she could have a white line painted vertically along her, Sheffield’s Helen Boulding has enlisted seasoned producer and – incongruously – sometime bass player of Killing Joke, Youth, to add his talents to her new single I DON’T KNOW WHAT I WANT.
The results are catchy and polished in that Shania Twain / Dido kind of way that just screams MTV and, unlike her fellow townsfolk Arctic Monkeys, there’s not a hint of a Yorkshire accent in these ‘ere grooves.
