One Window – Never

EP Review by Kris Griffiths

One Window, formed by Irish songwriter Matt Collins, fuses pop with hip-hop led by female vocals. Local Manchester singer Zoe Stafford takes the mike for these three tunes. NEVER is a catchy little number led by Stafford’s sweet voice with some funky guitar strumming going on behind her. This song definitely fits in somewhere in today’s pop scene. Second track BATTLES seems to take a step backwards, with its basic production all too noticeable. COME HOME is as technically sound as the first one, utilising a groovy bass line to great effect, however it appears to be a carbon copy of a song by fellow northerners Embrace. With better production, One Window can fully realise the promise it exudes.
