Seafood – Cloaking

Single Review by Mark Bayross

Crikey! After Seafood’s last single BELT, I wasn’t expecting this! Opening with a burst of low-slung Sonic Youth / Pixies-style bass, CLOAKING erupts into a frenzy of guitars and a punky, shouty chorus that wouldn’t go amiss on a Pitchshifter record.

BOGGLE then shimmies along on a gorgeous wave of strings and muffled, pulsing electronics, before CLEAR KEEPING ends proceedings with a very minimal strum-along, punctuated by distant explosions.

Best of all, there’s an album on its way. They’ve certainly got my attention.
