When you hear of a new band with an unusual name like ‘Shivaree’ and are told that this is a brilliant new band from West Coast USA, with a stunning lead singer called ‘Ambrosia Parsley’ you become slightly suspicious.
So when you listen to the album for the first time and can’t stop playing it because you are mesmerised by the music and you see a photo of the apparently stunning Ambrosia Parsley you realise that not only was this an understatement but that she really is drop dead gorgeous, and it starts to dawn on you that what you have here Is a future superstar in the making.
We’re not talking teeny bopper one hit wonders here either. This is a band that’s going all the way to the top with a sound that’s a mixture of sleepy ballards and faster rock sounds that are blended perfectly with Ambrosia’s very sensual voice that reminds you just a little of Gwen from ‘No Doubt’.
My favourite tracks are DARLING LOUSY GUY, GOODNIGHT MOON, and PIMP – three of the faster tracks from the album.
I almost can’t wait to see now this band’s music develops in the future with such a sensational debut album. Buy it now because this is going to be classic.
