The ever-engaging Brixton collective that is Alabama 3 release REACHIN’, one of the more mellow cuts from their third album, POWER IN THE BLOOD, as its first single. Beats, slide guitar, soulful backing vocals and Larry Love’s laconic drawl are all present and correct across the lead track and B-sides THE RIVER UNBROKEN (with added Hammond organ) and the beat-heavy DON’T DIG ANY DEEPER DARLING. While not quite up there with the LA PESTE-era singles, it’s pretty much business as usual, and this is still a band it’s a pleasure to do business with.  |
