Ash – Orpheus

Single Review by Mark Bayross

Ash are back with the first new material for two years (not counting the recent download-only single CLONES), and just in time to get us all excited about their forthcoming album MELTDOWN.

All the trademark Ash elements are present and correct – driving guitars, thumping drums and a typically infectious chorus – while Tim Wheeler’s vocals are still endearingly nowhere near the tune.

B-sides consist of new track TINSLETOWN and another Buzzcocks cover, this time of EVERYBODY’S HAPPY NOWADAYS, which also features on the SHAUN OF THE DEAD soundtrack and has none other than Chris Martin on guest vocals.
