Hicks Milligan-Prophecy – The Good The Bad And The Iceberg

EP Review by Mark Bayross

Well, this is one strange record. This three track EP from London’s Hicks Milligan-Prophecy runs the gamut from upbeat electro-pop (MONKEY SEE, MONKEY LIFESTYLE) to early New Order-style synth balladry (KING HEROD’S BABY MILK). Needless to say, the songs are as puzzling as their titles.

Given the current popularity of early eighties new wave, the ear-gnashing final track PRO-CELEBRITY PROSTITUTION may make it onto the dance floors of the UK’s “post ironic” club scene, although they are welcome to each other.

So, a bit hit and miss then.
