Reggie And The Full Effect – Take Me Home Please

Single Review by Mark Bayross

Tongue-in-cheek brainchild of James Dewees, keyboardist for The Get Up Kids and drummer for Coalesce, Reggie And The Full Effect has taken on a life of its own, with alter egos and guest appearances peppering Reggie’s genre-bending four-album career.

TAKE ME HOME PLEASE comes from recent album SONGS NOT TO GET MARRIED TO (inspired, naturally, by Dewees’ divorce proceedings) and is a catchy as hell, if slightly melancholy, collision of 80s synths, lovelorn lyrics and – in its “rock” incarnation on the B-side – raging punk guitars.

As such, it’s utterly fantastic. Now, go check out the album.
