Review by Mark Bayross

Sounding not unlike The Cure in more than just title, York’s Shed Seven have released this in a bid to attain their 15th consecutive Top 40 single. While the song’s not much to get excited about, it is catchy and energetic enough to more than satisfy their fanbase.

The single comes on two CDs, each one backed by a new song and a live track in anticipation of their forthcoming live album, plus there’s a 7” for the vinyl snobs (or tightwads) out there.

The new single from Shed Seven, WHY CAN’T I BE YOU – released on 12 May – will be in the shops for seven days only. The single also includes HANGING ON THE OUTSIDE and a live recording of MAGIC STREET not to be missed. They combine the perfect quantity of pop with good old fashion rock: a refreshing change from the Brit pop we are all too used to.

Watch out for the new album to be released soon: Shed Seven are back!
